• Mix ordinary white vinegar half and half with tap water.
  • Store the solution in a plastic bottle at room temperature.
  • Purchase a bulb syringe from the drug store.
  • While in the shower, use the syringe to instill a small amount of the solution into the ear canal.
  • After a minute, tilt the head to drain out the solution.
  • Repeat with the other ear.
  • Shower to eliminate vinegar odor.
  • Perform daily if trying to soften a large plug of earwax so that the doctor can remove the plug more easily without pain.
  • Perform twice a week if trying to prevent recurrence of earwax after a large plug has been removed by the doctor.
  • Replace unused solution every two weeks.
